We would like to wish all of our staff and listeners Happy Holidays! It has been a tough year with the passing of John Tibbs, but we know he is in a better place! The station continues to run in John’s everlasting memory.

Thank you for continuing to help detour BLUES grow and become one of the top blues stations on the web! Over the past few months, we have added hundreds of new songs to our playlist. We have also added the show, Juke In The Back, Tuesdays @ 2pm east.

Some of our goals for 2011 include attracting new volunteer daytime hosts, adding even more music to our library, and upgrading our streams to allow people with slower internet connections to listen, and upgrading our streaming software. Are you interested in volunteering to do a live show on detour BLUES? All you need is music, a high speed internet connection, and we provide the rest! E-mail vertical@thedetour.us if interested. Streaming Server Crashes: 10/30/2010

Our streaming server has crashed. We are in the process of having the disk drive restored. Please keep checking back for further updates.

John Tibbs, Station Admin, passes away

John Tibbs, the administrator of detour BLUES, passed away on July 30, 2010 at the age of 55. He was a strong advocate of independent radio and exposing listeners to new music. John was very passionate towards his listeners as well, always trying to make their listening experience unique and fun. Everyone at the detour network would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication since 2006. He will be missed. Please post any comments or memories you may have of John here.

detour BLUES will continue to broadcast as normal. We will be working on taking over John’s operation over the next month. New music and new shows are also in the works! Stay tuned for more blues as we remember John by continuing the station that he started.

the detour network undergoing maintenance 7/10

The detour network will be upgrading the server today. We will be down for a few hours starting at 1:30pm on Saturday, July 10th. detour MUSIC, detour TALK, and detour BLUES will be down for a few hours during this upgrade. Please check back for any additional updates.

Problems with stream

Due to computer issues, detour BLUES has been experiencing technical problems. While detour BLUES is down, detour MUSIC will take over. We are working on a more permanent fix to make sure that the stream is always stable. We apologize about this but will have the problem fixed soon! Thanks for listening to the detour network.
