Problems During Month Of December
by detourblues on Dec.29, 2009, under Station News
Hi everybody… the station had a few problems during the month of December. One of the problems had to do with the power company. An accident took out the transformer which supplies power to the station and in the process took out the UPS power supply and corrupted a few of the files that manage the station. Those problems are now fixed and complete backups are standing by in case this should ever happen again. Next time it should only be a matter of a few minutes before things will be restored.
New things are being added for the upcoming year. John Tibbs will be back broadcasting his show, “Blues You Can Use” from 1-5pm eastern time, daily. This is a live broadcast and you can make requests and dedications anytime during the show. Check back… more details to come shortly.

He is a Chief Master Sergeant in the USAF
As high as you can go in enlisted ranks (E-9)
Wouldn’t it be fitting if this went completely around the world!…..

John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.
He is a real Star of the war, and represents what America is trying to do.
This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You’ll never see things like this in the news. Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we’re doing over there is making a difference. Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

Cash For Clunkers…

Cash FOR CLUNKERS
IF MY BODY WERE A CAR.
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish, and my paint job is getting a little dull. But that’s not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus, and it’s especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here’s the worst of it –
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or laugh, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.

Billy Thompson At JM Randalls, Williamsburg, VA. Review
by detourblues on Jun.08, 2009, under Uncategorized

Blues artist Billy Thompson played at JM Randalls,4854-16 Longhill Rd., Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday, June 6th, 2009. The show started around 9:00pm and customers got the opportunity to experience some fine “blues” from Billy and his band! Billy was playing with his new band and played both originals and classics that we all know and love. Overall, it was a entertaining evening indeed!
The staff were all friendly and courteous, especiallly my waiter, who’s name escapes me. I ordered a patty melt from the grill and it arrived exactly as I ordered (medium rare) and was delicious.
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy some good “live” blues music, maybe get a bite to eat, and want to impress your date (not me, I went alone), then I recommend taking them to JM Randalls! You can check out their website at: www.jmrandalls.com.
