Cash For Clunkers…

Cash FOR CLUNKERS
IF MY BODY WERE A CAR.
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish, and my paint job is getting a little dull. But that’s not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus, and it’s especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here’s the worst of it –
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or laugh, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires.
CASH FOR CLUNKERS………. I QUALIFY - How about You?
Billy Thompson At JM Randalls, Williamsburg, VA. Review
Jun 8th

Blues artist Billy Thompson played at JM Randalls,4854-16 Longhill Rd., Williamsburg, Va. on Saturday, June 6th, 2009. The show started around 9:00pm and customers got the opportunity to experience some fine “blues” from Billy and his band! Billy was playing with his new band and played both originals and classics that we all know and love. Overall, it was a entertaining evening indeed!
The staff were all friendly and courteous, especiallly my waiter, who’s name escapes me. I ordered a patty melt from the grill and it arrived exactly as I ordered (medium rare) and was delicious.
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy some good “live” blues music, maybe get a bite to eat, and want to impress your date (not me, I went alone), then I recommend taking them to JM Randalls! You can check out their website at: www.jmrandalls.com.
Webcam Temporarily Unavailable!
Jun 3rd

The webcam in the studios here at detour BLUES are temporarily unavailable. I am in the process of changing the programs on that computer to another one more suitable for the job. Sorry for the inconvenience. The new setup will have the camera placed so that you will get a better view of the host. The previous camera location was more from the side. The new location will be from the front.

Awesome stream! Work is much more enjoyable…
Got any more Tab Benoit?
Got any “Bad New Blues Band” i.e Johnny Guitar?
Do you know Pat “Guitar Slim” Chase? A local guy here; 3-4 CD’s published in the El Paso, TX/ Las Cruces, NM area. Plays upside down and backwards like Hendricks.
Got Coco Montoya? Todd Tijerina? John Mooney; “Big Ol’ Fiya”? Ruthie Foster?
http://www.silvercity.org/dest_blues_festival.php is where we get an annual festival of blues. Great stuff…
Thanks again for the stream…

I just discovered your station on iTunes — as far as I can tell, this is the first Blues station where it feels like actual people who love the Blues pick the music…and Kudos on the sound quality!
IMHO, the only other station that stands out like this is Limbik Frequencies…fortunately for both stations, they aren’t competing for the same listeners.
Keep up the great programming — it’s appreciated!

Hope Everyone Had A Wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
May 26th
Well, the Memorial Day weekend is over and we’re all back to our “normal” routines at this time. I sincerely hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, ate plenty, and if you did any “partying”, did so responsibly. One thing we need to remember is, just because the holiday is over, doesn’t mean we should forget the efforts of the soldiers, stationed abroad and at home. They’re “best” day is typically worse than our “worst” days. Keep them in your prayers and even drop them a line or two once in a while. We all need to let them know we appreciate their efforts… here’s something to reflect upon!
